Beauty Aghedo popularly known by her stage name B’Dash, is a Nigerian
songwriter, singer, dancer and a Reality TV star. She is currently
managed by Ambassador Showbiz Plus. She came into stardom as a Reality
TV Star, a Performing Musical band Member of the B.e.a.t band and 2011 StarQuest winner in ‘StarQuest’ a Reality TV show organized by Nigerian
Breweries Plc. Her love for humanity attracted her endorsement deal with
“Healing Wings Foundation, Following the releases of her official
singles ‘God Bless Me For Your Eyes’, ‘Oruko Jesu’ and ‘Merry Christmas’
in 2014, all of which received significant airplays.
Early life and education
B’Dash was born on Wednesday, 27th of September 1989 in Oredo Local
Government area, Benin City, in Edo State, Nigeria where she finished
her primary and secondary education. She was raised by a single mother
alongside her siblings after the death of their father. She earned her
first Diploma certificate in Football from ‘Federation of Youth Soccer
Clubs’ FEYSOC, Affiliated with Nigeria Football Association, NFA’. She
under-studied ‘Wyfy, a Pop Musician’ as a backup singer and dancer in
the south-south region of Nigeria. She earned her second Diploma
Certificate in Hotel and Catering Management from ‘Youth Resource Centre
Benin City, Idia Renaissance’. She earned her first degree in Tourism
Studies from ‘National Open University of Nigeria’.
Music career
B’Dash started singing at the age of six when she joined the church
choir as a little girl of which she is still a part. She is a mezzo
soprano singer. Her music is a fusion of gospel, pop, hip hop, rock and
rap. She was a member of ‘the B.e.a.t band’, a band which emerged the
top finalist and winner of Africa’s Biggest Talent Hunt reality T.V show
in Nigeria ‘Star Quest’ in 2011. The band Signed a one year recording
deal worth 7.5million Naira with Now Musik In 2012 which followed the
official release of a Ten (10) Track recorded album ‘D’ beat goes on’
and a video ‘Oyoyo’ which earned an NMVA nomination that year under the
RnB category. The band’s recording contract with Now Musik ended In 2013
and members of the band moved on to pursue other careers while B’Dash
continued in her university education as she focused on studies and song
writing.
Her solo career started in 2014; she signed a management deal with
Ambassador Showbiz Plus and Ebuka Peters became her official Manager.
She released her first hit single in May 2014 ‘God bless me for your eyes’, an RnB song that trended on YouTube. In June 2014, she published a
self-composed victory poem ‘Go Go Super’ for the Super Eagles of
Nigeria during the 2014 World Cup tournament. In July 2014 ‘Oruko Jesu’
was released, a Pop song which talks about the power in the name of Jesus Christ. In December 2014 she sent her love to all her fans all
over the world by releasing a self-composed Christmas song and video
titled ‘Merry Christmas’, shot by Basic films and it stared Praise and
Promise twins and Ambassador Comedian.
In August 2015, B’Dash spoke loudly to the press about not being ashamed
to live her life which followed by the release of ‘Am Not Ashamed’, a
Pop‘rock song produced by Lovely Noise. In December 2015, B’Dash
released ‘Ojuelegba’ a cover of Wizkid’s song which became the 12th most
popular song in the World chart of popular music 2015.
